Andrew Harnett is a New York State licensed Physical Therapist who distinguishes himself by his high degree of compassion, extensive knowledge, intuitive approach and commitment to individualized patient care.

Dr. Harnett graduated from Touro College's School of Health Sciences with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in September 2000.  He has furthered his education by obtaining a doctorate of physical therapy at Touro College in June 2010. He also holds Bachelor degrees in both Psychology and Health Science. His first few years of practice were spent at Saint Vincent's Hospital in downtown Manhattan where he had the opportunity to gain experience working with various patient populations in both acute care and outpatient settings. These included orthopedic, neurological, cardiac and pulmonary patient care.  Dr. Harnett continued the next four years of his career in private practice as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team at New York Physical Rehabilitation & Wellness in midtown Manhattan. There he honed his skills as a manual-focused orthopedic and sports physical therapist. Presently Dr. Harnett owns and operates a home care, manual-focused private practice that caters to all New York City residents demanding the highest quality personalized care.

Dr. Harnett is both a student and a teacher. He believes that continuing professional education is an integral component to providing high quality care. Every year Dr. Harnett participates in various continuing education seminars so that he may integrate others’ methods into his own developing style of holistic treatment. He has been a member of the faculty of Hands-On Seminars where he instructed other PTs in advanced manual techniques, and is currently an instructor for Equinox Fitness Clubs where he teaches Anatomy and Kinesiology to new personal trainers.  Dr. Harnett is also an adjunct professor at Touro College in Manhattan where he co-teaches a course on spinal manual therapy evaluation and management.

Dr. Harnett’s patients appreciate his calm-mannered approach, his patience, and his dedication to achieving recovery.  Dr. Harnett focuses on the resolution of each patient's symptoms while striving toward complete physical well-being. His approach is manual-focused with an emphasis on myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization, postural correction, proper ergonomics and therapeutic exercise in order to progress each patient toward reduced pain, maximal function and correct biomechanical alignment.
